Item is a newspaper covering local news, with some international and national items. Three stories are of note. The first is the Edmonton School closing for the summer on May 31st so the teacher, Mr. Martin, could meet his arriving family in Calgary. Second, is the voting on the creation of East Edmonton School District. Third, is the promotion examinations held in the public school on May 26, 27. The names of the children are included as are the arithmetic examination questions for standards four and five.

Item is a notebook containing a Punishment Book, a Requisition Book, and a Library List. Each entry in the Punishment Book includes the date, the student's name, the misdemeanor, the teacher, and the punishment issued. The Requisition Book is a list of items requested by teachers. The Library List is a list of books. pages worn and loose from binding. Reference copy available for consultation. Dates for Requisition Book are 1908-1909 - 1911-1912. Date for Library List unknown.

Record of Substitutes

Item is a notebook used to record substitute teachers at King Edward School. Each entry includes the date, the name of the substitute teacher, the name of the absent teacher, and the length of absence. Some entries include the reason for the absence. At the back of the notebook are supply lists, a list of students and their misdemeanors, and a seating plan. Pages are brittle and loose from binding.

Item is a magazine edited by the student body of Edmonton High School, later known as Victoria High School. It includes articles by members of the community as well as articles about school activities. Of note are photographs of Edmonton High School teaching staff and of the students.

Item is the term examination report for Bennett School. It lists the students, their ages, the grades they achieved in various subjects, and the teachers' recommendations. The name of the teacher for each grade is also included.

Item originated in Bennett School and consists of a general list of supplies to be handed out, a tally of supplies given to individual pupils in Grades II, III and IV in September 1915, and the names of the students who received primers in January 1915.

Item consists of two identical copies of the Edmonton Technical High School day class prospectus. Descriptions of technical options offered are included, specifically, Household Arts, Art, Mechanical Drawing, Printing, Woodwork, Machine Shop, and Forge Shop. For students over 16, industrial courses could be taken in Art, Architectural Course, Forge Shop, Gas Engine, Household Arts, Dressmaking, Industrial Chemistry and Mineralogy, Machine Shop, Printing, and Woodwork.

Item consists of handwritten lists comparing teacher staffing in 1923-1924 to 1924-1925 within Edmonton Public Schools. It includes the number of teachers per school including a break down by Public Schools, Junior High Schools, High Schools, Part-Time teachers and Supervisors, the number of students enrolled per school, and it lists the names of tentative teacher appointees.

Item is a file of correspondence regarding student poster and essay contests sponsored by service clubs, the Canadian Authors' Association and the radio station CJCA. The item contains information about a federal job competition and the Civil Service Examination. A pamphlet from the Province of Alberta outlining the competition to destroy crows and magpies is also included. File was discontinued and removed from a larger series.

Administration Files : Concerts

Item pertains to student concerts held at McDougall church. The proceeds of the concerts went toward the Department of Music, the Department of Physical Training and the Children's Fund to Deal with Emergencies (Relief Fund). Included are minutes from organizational meetings, receipts, breakdown of ticket sales, programs and financial statements. The file also contains a list of the recipients of the School Chorus Awards from the Alberta Provincial Museum Festival, 1947.

Item consists of letters written by Superintendent of Schools, G. A. McKee, and Assistant Superintendent, L. B. Yule, regarding concerts put on by Edmonton Public Schools to raise money for an emergency fund. The fund was to assist school children whose needs were not met by the civic relief organization.
