Edmonton School Division receives curriculum direction from Alberta Education. Prior to 1905, the Northwest Territories managed the Edmonton riding. Delegates from Edmonton met at the Northwest Territories Assembly in Regina.

The fonds consists of scrapbook, diary, and photograph of Abbie Scott. Includes diary of 1924 Grad trip to Europe and programmes of Grad social events, 1935-1940. Abbie Scott was a member of the Edmonton Grad basketball team of 1923-1924, which won the world basketball championships held in Edmonton in 1923. The team traveled to Europe in 1924. The team disbanded in 1940. Scott was a member of the Edmonton Grads Club, an alumni association, and took part in the ceremony inducting the team into Edmonton Hall of Fame in 1973.

The fonds consists of constitution, minutes, financial statements, newsletters, briefs, newspaper clippings, campaign brochures, candidate biographies, correspondence, and policy statements of the Better Education Association. Includes school board election results from 1963-1966. Originally known as the Edmonton Association for the Advancement of Education, the Better Education Association was established in 1960. The BEA was a political organization which sponsored candidates in local school board trustee elections throughout the 1960s.

The Edmonton - Highlands School District 2292 became Beverly School District 2292 in 1913. Prior to 1953, Beverly (Central) Schools consisted of 3 buildings: a 2-room school, later referred to as the Church building; a 4-room school, brick, used until 1955; a 6-room steel school, referred to as "H" and "tin" school. After 1953, this group became known as Central or Beverly Central.
Post-1953 schools included:
Beacon Heights est. 1953; Beverly Heights est. 1954; Lawton Jr. High est. 1957; R.J. Scott est. 1959; Abbott est. 1960.

The fonds consists of minutes of the D.D 40 Club. The D.D. 40 Club was founded in Edmonton in 1928. The purpose of the club was to promote social activity among its membership, which was limited originally to unmarried women who were members of the Edmonton Public or High School teaching staff. The abbreviation D.D. stood for "Docendo Discimus", Latin for "By Teaching, We Learn", and the forty referred to the fact that the active membership was initially limited to forty people.

The collection consists of music books, sheet music, programs, photographs, photo album, filmstrips, sound and video recordings of performances, and clippings pertaining to the Edmonton Schoolboys' Band. The band started up in 1936-37 and consisted of students in grades 4-12. It took over the trusteeship of instruments and uniforms of the Edmonton Newsboys' Band that disbanded in 1928. The Edmonton Schoolboys' Band was active in the Edmonton area from 1936 to 1969.

The fonds consists of correspondence, press releases, brochures, and programs pertaining to Strembitsky's career as Superintendent of Edmonton Public Schools. Includes correspondence pertaining to his nomination for an honorary Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, his appointment as an adjunct professor, and a videotape regarding his resignation from Edmonton Public Schools in 1994. Michael A. Strembitsky was Acting Superintendent of Edmonton Public Schools from Aug-Dec 1972, and Superintendent from 1973 until his resignation in 1994.

The fonds consists of minutes and assessment roll of the North Edmonton School District. The North Edmonton School District No. 2305 was established in November 1910. The district amalgamated with the Edmonton School District No. 7 in 1912.

The fonds consists of minutes, administrative files and financial records of the Strathcona School District No. 216. The Strathcona School District No. 216 was formed in 1892 to serve residents in the Strathcona District south of Edmonton. The District amalgamated with Edmonton School District No. 7 in 1912.

The fonds consists of minutes, correspondence, tax forms and financial records of West Edmonton School District No. 2320. West Edmonton School District No. 2320 was established in 1910. It amalgamated with Edmonton School District No. 7 in 1917.

The fonds consists of minutes, bylaws and financial records of West Jasper Place School District No. 4679. It also includes music curriculum and report cards. West Jasper Place School District No. 4679 was established in 1935. It amalgamated with Edmonton School District No. 7 in August 1964.

Report Cards are selectively retained in order to preserve evidence of style change and student assessments over time.

Series consists of a single sheet for every class, in every school, per school year. Early years list boys and girls on separate sheets. High Schools are missing from 1964-65. Forms record school, date, teacher, students, each student’s address, birth date, grade, religion and residency status. Information was used by the finance/revenue area to calculate the annual education grant submission to Alberta Education. The lists then served as a directory of students, for the district, for the school year.

Item is the Annual Report of Edmonton School District No. 7 for the calendar year 1955. It includes a forward by the Superintendent of Schools and a description of instruction, maintenance and building of schools. Also included is a brief report of Financial Highlights. Annual reports are created to demonstrate accountability to the Provincial Government Education department in accordance with the responsibilities specified in the School Act.

Item is a report which presents issues of concern to Albertans. Its aim is to guide and assist the restructuring of Alberta's education system to meet changing needs. This report is also known as The Worth Report.

The Edmonton Bulletin was a newspaper published from 1880 to 1951 in Edmonton, Alberta.

The materials represent the work conducted by Burt Demeriez during his employment with the Edmonton School Division. The series contains memorandums, correspondence, drafts, reports, photographs, programs, booklets and itineraries in relation to developing programs in Outdoor Education, the Bennett Centre and Edmonton Public Schools Archives and Museum.

File contains materials describing how Edmonton Public Schools were to be involved in celebrating Alberta's 75th Anniversary. Letters depict how the City of Edmonton, the Municipal Anniversary Committee and Alberta's 75th Planning Committee and the 75th Anniversary Commission were involved in proposals, student exchange trips, grants, school projects and program development.

File contains a letter to Bruce McIntosh, Associate Superintendent, from Burt Demeriez, Supervisor at Bennett Centre and Archives and Museum. The letter is in regards to the purchase of a 30x22 acrylic painting from Alex Janvier.
