The Five Year Program : A Guide for Parents

Item is a booklet for parents whose children are rapid learners and therefore eligible for the five year program. The five year program allowed children to complete the six years of elementary school in five years. The booklet describes the program, the type of children who are eligible, and the role of parents.

Item is a booklet which provides instruction for elementary principals and grade I teachers and suggests resources to enhance the tree planting program. It was prepared by the Science Committee of the Edmonton Public School Local A.T.A. in cooperation with Edmonton Public Schools.

Department of Education High School Inspection

Item contains a synopsis of the follow-up meeting held in response to the eight reports presented to Edmonton Public Schools by the Department of Education High School Inspection Team. A memorandum from the EPS Special Education Branch suggesting follow-up investigations, specifically at W. P. Wagner School, is also included.

Task Force on Educational Facilities

Item consists of worksheets made by Edmonton Public Schools and completed by Elementary Principals. Worksheets requested: space availability for Early Education and Inner City School Programs, ideas to create attractive schools and issues to be addressed, specifically staffing. Associate Superintendent Educational Administration, Dr. Hohol, directed the Task Force. Participating schools were: Central, Delton, Donald Ross, Eastwood, McCauley, McDougall, North Edmonton, Norwood, Oliver, Parkdale, Riverdale, Rutherford, and Alex Taylor.

Focus on Change : People, Commitment, Results : Educational Development in the Edmonton Public Schools 1968-1971

Item consists of two identical reports. They include the philosophy, educational accomplishments, and future goals of Edmonton Public Schools. They also include a ranking of goals by principals and a summary of 1970-71 activities and accomplishments. The final draft of this report became the 1970-71 Annual Report.

People, Patterns, Progress : Educational Development in the Edmonton Public Schools 1968-1971

Item consists of four 1970-71 Edmonton School District No. 7 Annual Reports: two hard cover, two coil-bound, contain identical information. Reports outline: Edmonton Public Schools philosophy, educational accomplishments, goals, and principals' perspective, summary of 1970-71 activities of the main Divisions. Created to demonstrate accountability to the Provincial Government Education department in accordance with the School Act.

Resource Allocation Guide 1981-82

Item is a booklet to be used in the financial management of each school within Edmonton Public Schools. It is divided into Financial Planning Information, Budget Document, School Organization and Operation, and Staffing. Resource allocation falls under Financial Planning Information. It also includes sections entitled Underlying Considerations and Special Emphases for 1981-82. - Transferred to Archives and Museum from the Centre for Education in Feb 1985.

Item is a coil-bound report written by Extension Services and submitted to the Edmonton Public School Board. It looks at the potential for Community Schools in Edmonton and at the Community School pilot projects at M. E. LaZerte and Spruce Avenue schools. It examines changes that would need to be made for the Community School concept to be successfully implemented, and it makes recommendations.
