The subject matter in the reports varies, but most information relates to expenditures and budget. The Superintendents responsible for the reports are James McCaig (1906-1913), W.L. Richardson (Acting Nov-Dec 1913), W.G. Carpenter (1914-1923), George A. McKee (1924-1940) and Ross S. Sheppard (1940-1955).

Series consists of minutes from a committee made up of Trustees, School Board Officials and representatives. Throughout its history, the committee was called The Management Committee; The Management and Health Committee; The Management, Health and Discipline Committee; and The Management and Discipline Committee. The committee addressed staff appointments, dismissals and salaries; new courses and programs; new schools; student discipline; student health issues; and the organization of programs such as Kindergarten.

Minutes address staffing and building issues and include complaints about Superintendent McCaig. Both Superintendents McCaig and McKee were on the Committee. It includes the job advertisement in the form of a newspaper clipping and outline of the qualifications and duties of both Superintendent of Plant and Chief Caretaker. Letter of application from successful candidate, R. L. Haskell, included.

Sinking Fund Trustees Committee Minutes

Series consists of the minutes from the Sinking Fund Committee, made up of trustees of Edmonton Public Schools. The committee met for the purpose of purchasing and selling bonds and securities to build up the sinking fund and pay off the debenture debt. The committee ended on 07 Jan 1947 when the debenture debt was paid off.

Item consists of two identical copies of the Edmonton Technical High School day class prospectus. Descriptions of technical options offered are included, specifically, Household Arts, Art, Mechanical Drawing, Printing, Woodwork, Machine Shop, and Forge Shop. For students over 16, industrial courses could be taken in Art, Architectural Course, Forge Shop, Gas Engine, Household Arts, Dressmaking, Industrial Chemistry and Mineralogy, Machine Shop, Printing, and Woodwork.

Building and Grounds Committee Minutes

Series contains the minutes of the Building and Grounds Committee, made up of Edmonton Public Schools trustees. In 1935 the committee became the Property Committee. The committee addressed the care and expansion of buildings and grounds and issues affecting custodial and trades staff. It received monthly accounts from the Building Commissioner, information from the Engineer and Superintendent, and concerns from other parties.
