Ratings of Public and High School Teachers

Item has each teacher from each Edmonton Public and High school rated on a chart. Teachers rated as F., F.G., G., V.G. and E. Associated Edmonton School District No. 7 Board Minutes describe item as the Report of the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent on the Grading of Public School Teachers. Minute Book of the Committee on Buildings and Grounds

Item is the minutes of an Edmonton School District No. 7 committee. Comprised of several trustees and a secretary, the committee addressed issues such as concerns/wages of caretakers and workmen, maintenance of buildings and grounds, costs, new schools, additions to buildings, tenders, contracts, accounts, expenditures and community use of buildings and grounds. Minutes are arranged chronologically by year. Most minutes are original. Some are signed by the Secretary and the Chairman.

Mill Woods Development Concept

Item is the Development Concept Report prepared on behalf of the Civic Administration by the Edmonton City Planning Department. it outlines the development plan of the area of Edmonton called Mill Woods. It includes site analysis, development objectives, and the development concept. Of note, the plan addresses the need for educational facilities, their location and access, and the potential school enrolment.

Review of Educational Policies in Canada

Item is a six volume report coordinated by a Council of Education Ministers in co-operation with the Federal Government. The six volumes: Forward & Introduction, Government of Canada, Western Region, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Region were to acquaint others with educational development in Canada and to assist the educational authorities in planning more effectively for the future. Most include a descriptions of education within the region, including trends, goals, structure and post-secondary institutions. The Government of Canada Report addresses the Federal Government's role in education.

Superintendent's Monthly Reports

Series contains reports given by the Edmonton Public Schools Superintendent to the Board of Trustees pertaining to the administration of Edmonton Public Schools. These reports present information, enquiries and recommendations. This series also contains reports and information presented to the Superintendent by committees, school officials and outside agencies. The subject matter in the reports varies, but most information relates to expenditures and budget. The Superintendents responsible for the reports are James McCaig (1906-1913), W.L. Richardson (Acting Nov-Dec 1913), W.G. Carpenter (1914-1923), George A. McKee (1924-1940) and Ross S. Sheppard (1940-1955).

Series completed by principals. Cards organized chronologically and alphabetically by school. Each card records Month, Year, School, Teacher, Grade, No. of Teaching Days, Aggregate Days' Attendance, Percentage and Lates. Pre 1962, on verso Substitute, Day Taught, For Whom, Cause, Days Absent, No. of Fire Drills in Month and Avg Time and Principal. Post Sep 1962, on verso Avg Enrolment, Avg No. of Pupils per Class, No. of Register Room Teachers, No. of Other Full-Time Teachers, No. of Part-Time Teachers, No. of Fire Drills in Month, Avg Time in Seconds and Principal.

Each card in series records Month, Year, Teacher, No. of Teaching Days, Aggregate Days Attendance, No. of Pupils Enrolled, Average Attendance, Percentage and Lates. Cards in series are arranged chronologically and, after May 1950, alphabetically by school. Schools named: Beacon Heights, Beverly Heights, Central, Lawton Junior High, R. J. Scott and Abbott.

It consists of the monthly reports completed by the principal listing the teachers, the number of pupils enrolled in each class, number of teaching days, aggregate days attended, number of times the teacher was late, the number of fire drills in the month, and the average time it took to evacuate the school. Also included are reports for the Department of Education on the Enrolment for October 1962 distributed by sex, grade and age.

Item is the book used to record the minutes of the Strathcona Public School District Board meetings. The minutes were signed by the Secretary-Treasurer and the Chairman. A Management Model for the Mill Woods Campus

Item is a preliminary report which addresses the development of a management structure for the Mill Woods Campus. It looks at management issues and makes recommendations. It was prepared by APRA (Advance Planning and Research for Architecture) for the Mill Woods Campus Joint Steering Committee consisting of the Edmonton Public School Board, the Edmonton Separate School Board, Edmonton Parks and Recreation, and the Mill Woods Cultural and Recreational Facilities Association.
