The subject matter in the reports varies, but most information relates to expenditures and budget. The Superintendents responsible for the reports are James McCaig (1906-1913), W.L. Richardson (Acting Nov-Dec 1913), W.G. Carpenter (1914-1923), George A. McKee (1924-1940) and Ross S. Sheppard (1940-1955).

Pre-1905, Inspectors are from the Government of the North-West Territories and post-1905 from the Alberta Provincial Government. Documents record the Inspectors' evaluation of schools, classrooms, school grounds, equipment, pupils and teachers within Edmonton School District No. 7.
