The subject matter in the reports varies, but most information relates to expenditures and budget. The Superintendents responsible for the reports are James McCaig (1906-1913), W.L. Richardson (Acting Nov-Dec 1913), W.G. Carpenter (1914-1923), George A. McKee (1924-1940) and Ross S. Sheppard (1940-1955).

Item is a book of Bible readings compiled in 1929-30 and used for religious instruction in Edmonton Public Schools. The readings were to be read by the teacher but not commented upon. The majority of the readings are from the Old Testament. In 1930, the Bible readings were read to students in Grades I-VIII during closing exercises. In 1943, religious instruction was offered in one period per week during the last period of the day in certain schools. By 1956, the Bible readings could also be used at the opening of school.

This series begins with the second issue in Mar 1949. With the exception of 1949 and 1955, two bulletins were printed each school year, one in the fall and one in the winter. Each issue included a message from the Superintendent and information about the school district. The final bulletin was issued in Feb 1961 after which it was removed from the budget at the Board’s request.
