Series pertains to policy development within Edmonton Public Schools. The series is arranged into three sub-series: 84.51.3 Policy Development : Survey of Principals, 84.51.4-7 Policy Development : Advisory Committee which contains agenda, minutes, memoranda and the policies and regulations the committee has agreed to, 84.51.8 Policy Development : Project Booklets and Draft Policies which consists of Advisory Committee notes and a draft policy manual.

Interview with Ed McDougall

Item is a recorded interview with Ed McDougall about school life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He identifies photographs of school mates and teachers. He mentions, but does not describe, the schools he attended namely Edmonton School, McKay Avenue School, Queen's Avenue School, and Victoria School. He mentions teachers, Miss Chegwin, Miss Barker and Mr. Welbourne. He describes his homes in Edmonton. Interviewer is M. A. Kostek. On verso is an accidental recording of daily activity in Alma McKay’s office ca. 1984. Mike Kostek’s voice can be heard.

Interview with Ed Bell

Item is a recorded interview with Ed Bell, former teacher at Riverside School (1912-1913) and first principal of Bennett School. He discusses Cadets, Inspectors, and daily life in the schools. He mentions S.A.G. Barnes and Superintendent McCaig. He left Bennett to teach in the Peace Country and describes the move north in 1914. Interviewer is Frank Mathew.
