History

Named after the residential neighborhood it was constructed in. Argyll is named in honor of Sir John Douglas Sutherland Campbell, the ninth Duke of Argyll and Marquess of Lorne. The Marquess was governor general of Canada from 1887 to 1883. An addition was added to the school in 1960.
